Dress Code, Attendance, & Google Accounts

The new school year is fast approaching and I am bringing to your attention a few changes in Buchanan County Public Schools.

  • The student dress code has been revised.  Specifically “Shorts and skirts are to be mid-thigh or longer.”

  • The attendance requirement for receiving academic credit has been updated.  Under block scheduling, “a pupil who has 10 or more unexcused absences per class will not receive credit for the course.”

  • Students will be assigned a Google email account.  The Google email account allows your student to email teachers and other students with the school system only. No email can come from outside the school district nor can an email be sent to an outside email account.

Parents can read the entire policy on the web at  Changes to policy will be explained to your child on the first day of school during our student meeting.
